Jul 07,2025 | Feng He Garden

Ingredients

1 piece (300g, 1.5–2cm thick) Steak (sirloin/ribeye)

½ tsp Salt to taste

1 tsp Black pepper

2 tbsp Butter (divided)

2 cloves of Garlic

2 tbsp Feng He Garden First Extract Soy sauce

½ tsp Fresh Lemon juice

Method

1. Prep steak (5 mins)

  • Remove the steak from the fridge 30-60 minutes in advance.
  • Pat dry with paper towels (crucial for sear).
  • Season both sides with ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp black pepper.

2. Sear steak (3-4 mins)

  • Heat a skillet over maximum heat until smoking hot (≈approximately 2 minutes).
  • Add 1 tbsp butter – swirl to coat pan.
  • Immediately add steak:
    • Medium-rare: 1 min per side
    • Medium: 2 mins first side → flip → 1 min second side
    • No pressing! Flip only once.

3. Rest the steak (5 mins)

  • Transfer the steak to the plate.
  • Rub the surface with sliced garlic for aroma.

4. Make sauce (2 mins)

  • Keep the skillet on medium heat (no extra oil or butter yet—use the existing residue).
  • Add 1 tbsp butter and 1 tsp minced garlic.
  • Sauté 30 sec until fragrant (⚠️ don’t burn garlic!).
  • Pour in soy sauce and lemon juice.
  • Simmer 1 min until glossy. Stir in remaining ½ tsp black pepper.

5. Serve

  • Drizzle hot sauce over the steak.
